I'm Still Here!

It's been a long time since I've posted to this blog but I just wanted to let you know that I am still here! I have been very busy the last two months with my new job and I haven't been wearing anything other than my work uniform to show you! I am going to make more of an effort to update this blog 1-2 times a month so stay tuned!

On Sunday afternoon I got the chance to catch up with a good friend of mine for pancakes and a spot of shopping in the city before we decided to park ourselves in the grounds of a church to take some photos for our respective blogs. I was really excited to wear my new cat tee from SheInside that arrived last week and I was so sad to find once I got home from our outing that it had a hole in it that I didn't notice when I took it out of the packaging, so I'm not sure I am happy to buy from them again... It's pretty bad to have a hole that looks like it came from a cigarette burn in a brand new shirt.
Apart from my shirt dramas, this outfit was perfect for a lazy, casual Sunday afternoon in the cold Brisbane city! Although these jeans make me feel like I really do need to get back to the gym ASAP...

New In My Wardrobe

I am so sorry things have been quiet on this blog lately. I lost my job a few weeks ago rather unexpectedly and have been very busy interviewing and doing temp work until I could find myself a new permanent job. I am pleased to say that this tough time has been the best thing that ever happened to me though because I took a chance an applied for my dream job again (I have applied many, many times over the last 8 years) and was finally successful! So on Monday I will begin my new role as a travel agent! I can't wait!
Anyway, since my birthday I have added a few things to my wardrobe but I have been trying not to spend too much money because I didn't know how long it would take me to find a new job and now that I have, I don't know when I will next be paid! But nonetheless here are a few cute additions to my wardrobe to tide you over until my next outfit or wishlist post!
The minute I saw this top on a girl from LookBook.nu, I just knew I had to have it. I absolutely adore cats and cat print things are slowly becoming a little obsession of mine... I just purchased this shirt today and I also received another cat t-shirt for my birthday, along with some cat-themed jewelry! Cat all the things!
New Matte Black Reversible Skater Dress - Black Milk Clothing
I have had my eye on this dress from Black Milk Clothing since it was released a few months ago and I finally had the funds to purchase it over the weekend as a reward to myself for getting a job so quickly! The dress is reversible so you can wear it with the neckline pictured or a racer back neckline, so really it is two dresses for the $60 price tag, which is definitely worth it! And best of all, I can wear it to work with some careful business styling.
Sheer Dobby Tights - Forever New
I love polka dot tights and every winter it seems I have to buy a new pair because I wear the pair I bought last season over and over again until I get a run or a ladder in them. I picked these up last weekend when I went shopping in the city with one of my best friends.
Pocket Sweater - Bardot
I bought this sweater on sale (over 50% off!) last weekend as well whilst shopping in the city with my friend. It's super comfy and looks really great with a pair of black skinny jeans or printed tights. I love the metallic sheen and am so pleased with such a great bargain!
I really hope to have some new outfit posts to show you soon. Things have been so busy and the weather has been awful and raining so I haven't had a chance to get outside with my boyfriend/photographer and shoot some outfits. I have a few great ones planned so hopefully I can show you over the weekend.

It's My Birthday!

Wet Look Leggings - Black Milk Clothing
T-Shirt - Valley Girl (Gift)
Vest - Thrift Shop
Jewellery - Markets
Loafers - Jeffrey Campbell (Gift)
Sunglasses - Prescription

----------
Yesterday was my 25th birthday and I have had such a busy weekend that I just haven't had time to blog until now. I'm actually really sad that I didn't get a chance to photograph the sequined dress I wore out to dinner last night with my friends but I am wearing it again to an event next month for a charity screening of The Great Gatsby so I can show it to you then.
I also lost my job this week so I have been very stressed! Luckily I had a fantastic birthday weekend and now that it's Sunday I can relax a little bit before starting to look for a new job next week. I wore this laid back outfit today which is comprised of some of my favourite birthday presents! The cute kitty t-shirt was a gift I received from a high-school friend on Friday night and the shoes (which I adore!) were a combined gift from my two best friends. They are so comfortable! I have a feeling I will be wearing them everywhere from now on...
With no work in my immediate future, I hope I can blog a big more frequently for a little while as I will have plenty of free time but sadly not a lot of money to go out or go shopping!  Wish my luck on my job hunting, I am going to need it!

This Week I Love...

I know this post is very overdue but I have been unwell lately so I haven't been feeling like blogging very much. I bought a DSLR camera recently though so hopefully I can capture some outfit posts more frequently for you, as well as take nicer quality photos!
Anyway, here are some of my recent finds that I just love!
Kerise High Low Dress - Forever New
This dress is just stunning and if I wasn't a bridesmaid for my best friend's wedding in October, I would definitely be buying this dress to wear to the event. The colour is just stunning and knowing Forever New, the fabric and quality of this dress are likely to be just as fabulous. It is so beautiful!
Trixie High Low Top - Forever New
I have been looking for a casual striped sweater for a while now and this light weight one (also from Forever New) is almost perfect! I love the grey stripes instead of the typical black you might find somewhere else--I think it is a nice, soft look and very feminine.
Kitten Blouse - Dotti
I saw this blouse in-store at Dotti a few weeks ago when I was shopping with my good friend Alex. I absolutely adore the kitten print but sadly because it is sold out everywhere in my size this blouse gets stuck here instead of on my monthly wishlist.
Dear Diary Tee - Princess Polly
I don't often wear printed tees (or tees at all really) but every now and then one pops up that I really like. The design on this is quite cute and the words are really fitting to a fashion blogger, don't you think? If I have any money to spare at the end of the month I would love to buy this shirt!
It's my birthday in a week so I will hopefully have one... or two... or three different outfits to share with you after my birthday weekend. I will be 25 this year, how scary!

Autumn Sunshine

Galaxy Leggings - Black Milk Clothing
Basic Tee - Target
Handbag - Forever New
Ballet Flats - Target
Jewellery - Diva, Putumayo (Japan)
Sunglasses - Prescription
----------
When my boyfriend suggested that we drive out to the bay today for lunch and a walk, I certainly didn't expect to end up blogging about it. Despite being very casually dressed, the sunshine, water and blue skies provided a backdrop that was too stunning to resist so we took a couple of snaps of my outfit while we walked along the waterfront. We had a lovely afternoon in the sun and a lovely lunch as well. Not too bad for an unexpected Sunday outing at all!

Denim & Lace

Skinny Jeans - Jay Jays
Top - Forever New
Leather Jacket - Primark
Ballet Flats - Cote-A-Cote, Paris
Handbag - Forever New
Bracelets - Diva
----------
This casual look was inspired by my favourite fashion blogger, Rebekah Wing from Flirting With Fashion. I dressed this outfit up a little more than Rebekah's original look for a night out with friends and my boyfriend to have dinner at a pub and then go see Iron Man 3.  I really love the contrast not only between black and white but also of the tough textures of denim and leather with the crochet lace. This is definitely one of my favourite combinations and I think I will be wearing it a few more times before autumn is through!

This Week I Love...

As I mentioned in my last post, I am sorry for being absent from this blog recently. I have been dealing with some very personal issues in my life to do with my health and it has taken a lot of focus and energy to deal with them. I do want to put more effort back into this blog and even if I can't post outfits as much as I would like (my boyfriend/photographer is also going through some health issues), I do want to keep posting new content such as posts like this and more lifestyle/beauty related posts too. So please be patient with me and most importantly, keep reading!
Map Print Scarf - TopShop
I am a little bit obsessed with map prints because of my love of travel and absolutely adore this printed scarf from TopShop! The design is very cute and the price fairly cheap but when shipping costs more than the item itself, it's doomed to be stuck on my wishlist instead of on my "to purchase" list.
TROOPA Boots - Steven Madden
I have had a little bit of a love affair with Steve Madden since discovering his designs last year and these boots are amazing. They are currently on sale for just $100 from Urban Outfitters and I wish more than anything I had the money to buy them! They would go great with a pair of skinny jeans or printed leggings and would replace the pair of boots I walked to pieces (literally) in London over Christmas. Hopefully I can save up and buy a pair before the season is over!
Lady Strut Bag - Princess Polly
This shoulder bag from Princess Polly is just adorable! I love the cute bow detail and the size is just perfect.  I am seriously lusting over this bag right now and it comes in coral and teal as well for those who, unlike me, prefer a pop of colour rather than basic black.
Asymmetrical Leatherette Skirt - Bardot
I have not been much of a fan of Bardot in the past but their clothes this season have really changed my opinion of the brand. I adore this leatherette skirt with its unique asymmetrical detailing and would have purchased it when I saw it on sale but unfortunately they were sold out in my size. I will be on the hunt for a similar skirt all winter, I just know it!
What pieces are you loving at the moment? Are you missing summer fashion or like me are you longing for colder days when you can snuggle up in chic winter attire?

April/May Wishlist

It's been a long month with very little money thanks to bills but finally pay day is here again! This month I want to try and buy a couple of things I couldn't purchase last month due to lack of funds, as well as a few new things I've found since then.
Harlem Paper Bag Shorts - Dotti
I admit I have become a little addicted to shorts despite the fact the weather is getting colder every day. It's really hard to find nice shorts that suit anyone that isn't model thin and even harder to find shorts that a) aren't denim and b) aren't super tight. I love these baggy shorts and I really, really hope I manage to purchase a pair during this coming month.
Metal Point Collar White Blouse - ROMWE
As always, I am continuing my search for a basic white blouse and this one from ROMWE still tops my list of candidates. I would honestly love to find one that wasn't sheer or chiffon but it seems to be impossible these days! The simple collar embellishments on this blouse are also really cute.
Penny Panel Knit Dress - Dotti
This simple black knit dress will be great to layer over cute tights and a chic blazer or leather jacket for work and casual wear this winter. Now I just have to decide between basic black (something I severely lack in dresses) or aubergine.
Glam Spiked Necklace - Diva
I have been looking at necklaces similar to this one for a while and would love to get my hands on one this month. I'm a little bit undecided however on whether to buy gold or silver... or both!
Before I leave this post I just want to quickly apologise for my absence from this blog and assure you that I do have an explanation (as well as a few new blog posts) coming in the very near future. Until then I beg you to please be patient with me! It won't be long now, I promise.
xoxo

This Week I Love...

I'm very sad to say that I probably won't be able to afford a single thing from my wishlist for the month thanks to bills and the like but I am currently preparing a post highlighting some of the most recent additions to my wardrobe from the last couple of months that I haven't had a chance to share with you yet. So stay tuned!
In the mean time, here's some things I loved this week (and last week).
Holy Chic Tee - Bardot
I saw this tee when I was out shopping with a girlfriend the Friday before last and I immediately fell in love. Graphic and printed tees aren't really my style but I would love to learn how to incorporate them into my wardrobe as they are very trendy and can look really interesting when styled well. I loved the pun on this shirt and the beaded jewel detailing on it added a feminine touch. It wasn't on sale when I was in Bardot's store but it is currently on sale in their online store!
Harper Flocked Scuba Dress - Forever New
I saw this dress when I was browsing the latest collection on Forever New's website and fell in love with the velvety baroque detailing. I really love the fabric design as well as the overall cut of the dress. It is very elegant and very on-trend for this coming winter.
Paige Textured Belt Dress - Forever New
Speaking of Forever New, I also fell in love (as I often do) with this blue texture skater dress. This shade of blue is one of my favourites and again I love the subtle textures the fabric has to offer this dress. It isn't as chic as the one above but still a lovely dress.
Jewel Sleeve T-Shirt - Ally Fashion
This tee I found on a smaller fashion chain store here in Australia called Ally Fashion. I instantly knew I had found something special in the jewelled details on the sleeves. This tee is very unique and I just love the colours it has to offer!
Lina Heart Crown Stud - Forever New
I found these little gems also at Forever New and definitely think this is one purchase I just have to make! When I was younger I was completely obsessed with the video game Kingdom Hearts and I often find myself drawn to this design: a heart with a crown. My favourite perfume (Vera Wang - Princess) comes in a bottle of this design, I have a charm on my Pandora bracelet with this design and I am also thinking of getting a tattoo in this design because of the impact the game had on my teenaged years. These earrings are just adorable! I love them to pieces!
